The article cites, SPECIFICALLY, the reason for the keeping the deer out.......is the hunter being able to HUNT over the plot....and realize the fruits of his labor.

Also Jeff if you do plant a small plot you might want totry a late season plant. I plant sweetcorn sometimes as nothing will really mess with it until it matures then I just leave it standing, also a simple winter wheat plot works good but if you make a perimeter around it of snow peas or winter peas it becomes a very tempting mix for them especially when it gets colder.

Makes sense to me. Like I said, if they eat it down you can't hunt it and in essence are basically just feeding them which is good to a point but that is not the primary reason I plant them, I want to hunt near them.

What is your answer to your question or what is your #1 intention with a food plot?
