confidence

How important is confidence to you in your set-ups -
Meaning once you determine where you are going to hunt how many sits will it take before you may think about moving a stand
I approach every set-up with the highest level of confidence- I know I am going to see deer -

I use a climber and more often than not - will not hunt the same tree very often - I may move 5 trees away in the same area - fine tuning if you will

But I strongly believe the first time you hunt a set-up is your best oppty to take a deer

Well look at the downside, you go in without confidence, your fidgety, anxious, looking where you "should" have set-up. Maybe daydreaming not expecting to see deer.So consequently not looking properly, missing deer in sight. Too insecure to pick up the binocs to look at what you know is just another "stump".

Confidence keeps you alert and focused

I agree that confidence is very important, but some times you can quickly cross the fine line between confident and just being plain stubborn. I had a set up a few years ago that I just "knew" was going to pay of BIG. Trail camera photos were crazy and showing multiple real good bucks and the best part was I was getting these just weeks before the start of the season. I was very confident in this stand location. Opening morning, farmer was taking off the beans. This had a huge impact on this location, but I was confident in this pinch point that I stilled hunted this location first. I hunted this stand for almost 3 solid weeks and for my efforts I seen one spike buck and zero does. The food source changed, which changed travel patterns, but my confidence (stubborn attitude) in this location killed me. I knew after just a few hunts that I needed to change, but just too damn stubborn.

It seems always seems like when I scout an new area and find a tree I'll set up in I'll see deer on the first set and also killed a few on the first set in a new tree! Confidence is everything if you ask me! You can have every bowhunting gadget know to man but if you don't have confidence in it I think your hurting yourself or wounding animals! JMO!

RE: confidence

After everything is all done....you shot all summer....you have deer in your area.....you have all the bells and whistles set up....

Confidence - Is the key to closing the deal.

This word of confidence plays a role in not only bowhunting but everything we do in life...
