What are the odds?

After seeing pictures this weekend of 2 of the biggest and widest bucks I have ever seen. What are the odds of a small state like maryland to break both the typical and the non-typical state records in the same year?

All I know of the one buck is its 42 inch spread and the other has 17 points with 8 inch bases.
