Hey guys and gals...here is an arrow question.

I picked out some arrows that I like...not to exspensive but not junk

Beman ICS Hunter

I want to order just the shafts so I can put on my wraps then take them to get fletched. But I cant figure out which size to get 300, 340, 400, 500. I also want to put blazers on them if that makes a difference.

I am shotting a 2007 Bowtech Ally at about 68# with a 28.5 draw. I shoot a 100gr tips also

Depending on the length of the arrow, you're right on the border of a 400 and 340. I think you'll be better suited with, and happier with, the 340. They are a tad heavier, but you'll benefit from the stiffer spine.

Based on their selection chart you will want to shoot the 400's.

X2. You might get them cut to 29" just to clearly put in the 340's turf. Or shoot 125 grain heads at the shorter length. Blazers won't affect much of anything. I use them almost exclusively for targets and hunting.

lighter vanes(blazers) heavier tip make higher foc which may improve flight!? I'm shooting ICS 400 cut to 28 for one bow with Blazers and 100 gr insert with 125 tip!28"d/l at 60 d/w,they line out great and penetration should be wonderful!

340. I wouldn't even have 400's in my mind with the allegiance.

Those spine selection charts are just a guideline and haven't changed much since they started making the ICS arrows. Remember that just 10 years ago bows did not have the performance that todays bows have. Just ten years ago a 300-305 fps bow was considered very fast, today that is on the slow slide.

You will need a bit stiffer shaftwith that Ally than you would have needed on a something like an outback at the same specs.

If you don't have OT2 or one of the other programsuse Carbon Expresses adjsutedbow weight chart. It figures that you should be choosing an arrow for an adjusted draw weight of 78 pounds.
