An alternative 3-D turkey target (pic)
Just an idea my son came up with for practicing for turkey season. I had a feather flex turkey that i hated, it never held shape even when working it with a heat gun and stuffing it with crumpled newspaper in the off season to hold shape. Not to mention it did not look real. He mentioned using it to shoot and thats when it struck me, cut it down the middle and have two halves to use, a left and a right :DNot a 3-d target by any means but it works great and last through ALOT of shots. i just used very thin wire bent into a U shape and stuck it in about three places. Got a junk decoy? then here is an idea to use it for ;)

I used that exact decoy as a target just as you did. I'm actally thinking of tuffing it with chunks of foam and filling in the rest with that great stuff foam thatI fix my targets with. I doubt it'd stop my compound, but should work great for my longbow.

My dad had a turkey mold last year for a decoy. He used that packing foam and made a foam decoy. We did the same thing with that as you are. It worked really well until it fell apart :D
