Yep, I had a hawk of some sort in Nebraska that just wanted me dead for some reason.........I had to finally stand up and wave my bow at him. He just wouldn't let up.

Last year in IL hunting with Greg I called an entire flock of turkeys maybe 25 birds in all across a slough about 75 yards wide.
They must have really liked the keekees and yelps I was throwing across because one of the jakes in the group tried to land on my thigh in the treestand.
I kept saying "he's gonna swing away, he's gonna swing.......holy crap he's gonna land on me!"[:-]

I jumped like a little girl when this 15lb bird's left wing seriously went right under my chin. :D

Had it happen a couple times but pnly with small hawks. The most memerable one I had was out in Colorado on a bow hunt for elk. I was sittin there early mornin just lookin around and all of a sudden I see this thing suspended int he air and getting bigger, all of a sudden I could see the straight wings and and a face headed right at me. I froze and luckily it pulled up just short of me, about 5 feetrealizing I wasn't food and landed right above me about 4 feet away just lookin at me goin what in the hell are your, lol, and I was thinkin the same, haha, and we watched eachother for a couple minutes and then he moved on. He was only about 1 footlong from head to tail but scared thebajesuses outtame when Isaw it it looked on my head comin for me, lol. WCL

By a woodpecker, it took me by suprise. Also had a tree branch that stemmed out from the tree next to mine and covered my face somewhat. A chipmunk walked all the way accross the branch and stopped in front of my face and staired straight at me with his beedy little eyes before he said "oh ****" and took off running and chirping, LOL

A hawk landed in a tree about 10 yards away, and let out on hell of a screech, and so did I.

i havent been swooped, but ive had owls in the same tree as me

I had that happen this year. An owl landed like 3 feet from me. You never realize how big they are until they are that close. I just gently tapped my fingers on the stand and he took off. Awesome day in the woods. But man, you really know it when they are flapping to set down on something.

I have had the pleasure on a day hunt, never been to this place before. First morning they took us out (in the dark) dropped us off and said your stand is that way ;)I got in the stand and was waiting on daylight when all of the sudden I started hearing this noise but I couldn't see nothing after about the tenth time it was light enough to see the big ol' owl...Kinda awkward for the first few minutes....

HAHAH...love this post...

One night I was looking at a coopers hawk acrossed an open hardwoods pirched in a tree at about 60 yards....

So funny Brian decides to play a game called "move your pinky".....WELL.....out of the tree he comes....wide open throttle.......stealth mode......at about 20 feet I throw up my arms and yell "get out of here!" and he veers off me......Not to bright....

Never saw a deer that night.......weird....
