Im not a big fan, but it just goes to show the talent and creativity of a taxidermist. Like others, I think it disrespects the animal and could give the sport of hunting a black eye in some people's mind. Just my opinion though.

The rock was involved so they didn't have to full mount the entire animal. I have to assume it's suppose to look like the animal is dead behind the rock.
I just showed my wife. " Ew, I don't like that at all!". Says volumes to me.

I do feel its more "artful" than most and even though a bit contraversial, I do not find it distasteful.
Why can someone take the reat end of a deer, make a door bell and everyone laughs? A guy makes a very realistic mount of how most of us first find our deer, and its disrespectful?

Different mount for sure but I feel there is no respect to the deer. On every deer I have harvested, my memory always recalls the pose (sneaking, alert, curious, etc) just before the shot is taken. Only my opinion.

If you think about it, when you walk up on your buck it is usually laying there dead, blood all over it, occasionally a piece of arrow in it, and tounge sticking out. Its very realistic, not very tasteful but realistic, and the rock was just because he had to modify the form it was a wall pedistol mount i think so he tried to blend it as best he could.
