is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
Was just looking at Bass Pro's website to see if I was going to use a different Broadhead for Turkey and the Rage are now $40 for three - looks like all of the other heads have went up as well-

RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
RM Snypers, slightly less.;) And I agree Frank, it's getting ridiculous and all because of gas prices I'd bet.

RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
Last I looked the old reliable heads such as Muzzy and Thunderheads were selling for the same price they were last season. If it ain't broke...;)

RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
Well obviously more expensive = better = the deer will be dead faster. :D[8D];)
Just business, people selling stuff for what others are willing to pay. Just seems that many are very willing to pay a lot. |
RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
i have not really noticed the price of my thunderheads going up in the last 10 years.:D
|
RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
I agree, the prices do seem to have gone up on most of them, but my Jak-Hammers are still under $30!!!

RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
If consumers weren't such sheep - and didn't buy into the advertising - they would actually get what they pay for. But, it's proven year in, year out that marketing pays off - and we all foot the bill.
An enormous portion of your purchase price is directly related to their immense marketing budget. So, everytime you see an ad or a commercial for a product, be aware that you're paying for it at the checkout counter of your local sporting goods store. You figure, a broadhead might cost $3 to make. But by the time you add-in marketing, profit for the manufacturer, profit for the middle man, and profit for the sporting goods store - you're looking at a $12 broadhead. LOL Sad, but that's the accepted practice. This is a point that always falls on deaf ears... But... I'll continue to preach it. |

One reason is that steel and aluminum prices have shot thru the roof in recent months. We are having to raise or prices at work too. Caterpillar is not happy.;)

Wow those things are expensive. I'd have a real hard time practicing with heads that coast so much.

RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
ORIGINAL: buckeyehntr5 I've odered a couple things from this place. I always look on that sight before I go anywhere else. $40 for 3 broadheads is outrageous. I don't care how much steel and aluminum have gone up. With the small amout of material they use it does not justify a $10 (33%) price jump from the previous year. Someone is being greedy. I don't know if it's Basspro or Rage, but that's just not right. |

RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
The ONLY reason that they still havethem at last years prices is because they haven't received the 2008's yet. Unless they just don't pay anyattention to the dealer contract they signed regarding minimum pricing and such.
The dealer cost went up almost $5 per pack this year. Their (Rage)minimum selling pricefor 2008 is $39.99 and MSRP is $44.99. |
RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
Luckily thebroadheads that I use have been researched and have been proven to be the best penetrating head on the market currently. I canpractice withthem all I want, resharpen and use the same heads on game. All for $3.50 a piece. [8D]

I will no longer shoot rages- either bought about a dozen of them last year still have 4 in decent shape - But I am not going to pay $40 plus dollars for 3 heads >>>>>Basterds

RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
I sellSlick Tricks at the lowest price I am allowed and throw in free shipping.Anyone caught selling lower will lose their dealership. That's the word direct from Gary. My other broadheads I sell as low as profit margins will allow me.

Some of them are out of sight. Thunderheads are still $36 for 6. Shuttle T's are still $35 for 3. Those are the two I use.

I can get a 6 pack of Magnus Snuffers for 23.00 bucks. Not bad if you ask me and I can reuse them over and over most the time! The Snuffers have actually went down in price from what they use to be at.

RE: is it me or have the prices of BH"s skyrocketed
I think that honestly has a lot to with the demand - is the fact they do wreck havoc on a deer - posting pics of the damage _ i have seen photos on several forums - and the demand skyrocketed -
I personally used them on the East Coast of NC - where I wanted the deer down quick - some nasty cutovers and the place is full of bears - Had a buddies deer being drug by a bear and also had one of mine mangled a few years back - Once I used them on the east coast tried G5 strikers - another good head but almost as pricey - I am not sure what I will try this year but have used thunderheads, muzzy, rocket sidewinders, rocky mtn gators, Rage, spitfires and a few others - I factor in the area and conditions for tracking when deciding - right now the RM Gators are looking to be my choice |
