Older Bowtechs? ***PRCES NOW***

Ok so I sold my bow and guess what?!?!?! I am going to get another one! I am looking to get a Bowtech. I have shot them all and cant really say a bad thing about any of them, I would be happy with almost any one of them. I think I am going to have to get a 2007, 2006, 2005 model becasue I am not made of $$ :D. Just wondered what you all thought about the older models and if there are any to stay away from or any to grab if I get the chance??
I want a 60-70#

Thanks
~Mike

2006 Allegiance..........or any Tribute.

Great buys.
Man, you guys are making it easier and easier for me to hold onto my 06 Ally. I just ordered a MeanV for it so I guess I'll keep it longer. :D

RE: Older Bowtechs???

this will be used 50% 3D and 50% hunting. Whats a good price range for a 06 ally? thanks

RE: Older Bowtechs???

I would have to look for an 06 Old Glory... I sold mine awhile back and miss it, that was a sweeeet shooter and she could drive tacks with the best of them!

RE: Older Bowtechs???

06 or 07 Allegiance. I like the grip on the 07 better and also it is lighter, so if you want to weight it up you can put it where you want it.;)

You can't go wrong with either one.

2006 Allegiance. ;)

RE: Older Bowtechs???

I concur on the Allegiance, but if your not troubled by shorter ATA lengths, look at the Tribute. I have shot my business partners' Tribute a bunch and it is one heck of a bow.

RE: Older Bowtechs???

How does the 2005 Ally stand against the 2006 or 2007?

also what price ranges am I looking at for each year for bare bow?

THANKS

RE: Older Bowtechs???

2005= Draw specific cams, I wouldn't get one.

2006= New cam design, accepts modules, much better.

2007= Same cam design, lighter, better grip

I'd get an 06' or an 07' if you could.

RE: Older Bowtechs???

I have a 05 and love it; however the cams are draw specific, and some people like the 06 and up grip, although I like the 05 grip. If you get a 06 or later, it will be easier to adjust to your specifics, but the 05 fits me perfectly in every way. I keep looking at newer models, but I haven't found an advantage to trading up yet, although I do really like the new in velvet finish.

RE: Older Bowtechs???

While I prefer the the 06 or 07, if you find an 05 in your draw length many people preferred the 05. I would look around for a while. Try to find one that has been well taken care of and is at a priceyou want to spend then close the deal. There really is no bad choice;)

This is kind of funny in the sense of timing. We just had an email discussion on what our favorite previous yearmodels were.

For pure accuracy I have to agree with Buck Magnet. The 2006 Old Glory was a dream to shoot. I was also very fond of the Pro 40 Freedom. For indoor target it was a superb shooter. The bow practically shot itself. I just had to aim in the general direction of the target. ;)

For hunting my favorite continues to be last year's Black Ice (I lump Diamond and Bowtech together for obvious reasons). I wish I would have bought a Tribute at some time as well. Same overall specs and design as the Black Ice but with better speed because of the Binary Cam system.

If you are interested in a sweet shooting single cam Bowtech, ya might try to find an '05 Patriot.....I love mine though I am giving it to my son soon. I have no idea if there is any difference in the draw cycle between the '05 Allegiance or the newer ones, but when I compared the '05 Ally and the '05 Patriot I ended up buying, I preferred the draw cycle and feel of the Patriot. Just my 2 cents.

Well, I have an 03 Extreme VFT and have no issues, thought I have to get a new string this year. That is, of course, if I don't get tempted for an '08 Bowtech this year.

RE: Older Bowtechs???

I would look at an 06 Allegiance. I personally have an 05 that I love, but the DL specific cams and the fact that it weighs a ton would sway me towards a newer model year if I were buying used. You can always replace the grip if you don't like it, but it's hard to cut out a few extra holes in the riser if the bow feels too heavy once you've stuck a bunch of accessories on it. :D

Some deals Im looking at right now for used Allys...

2006 Ally (bare) $425 TMD minor paint blemish drawmay fitme

2007 Ally (bare) $475 TMD draw doesnt fit me

2006 Ally (loaded decient equip) $525 TMD draw may fit me

What do you think on these prices?

GR8atta2d 03-27-2008 11:07 AM

RE: Older Bowtechs???

I too have the 05 and it's like everyone says..the best one, is the one you own. I would prefer it over the newer Allys.

Whats your draw length? Mines 27.5 and like they say..everythings for sale ;)for the right price.

New custom Gibblet cable strings and STS January this year.

If the draw length is right I'll step back and let the rest of the board determine a "fair" price for both parties.

Oops hit a nerve ... forgot I'm only allowed to take shots not dish'em back. It's all good! ;)

RE: Older Bowtechs???

No, Bob....not MY nerve....but you accused some people of things you have no knowledge of......because if you did you wouldn't have posted what you did.

Take all the shots you want at me. Leave everyone else out of it.

RE: Older Bowtechs???

Wow the more you try and clear it up the more muddled it gets..I have zero idea what you are currently talking about. I obviously have knowledge on what I posted..but to what you are eluding to I have no idea.

So I'm done...sorry I even tried to help anyone out..should've know it would end in a 25 thousand page debate!

RE: Older Bowtechs???

You should able to get a used 2006 Ally for around $400 - maybe less - depending on accessories. Remember to ask about strings and cables becuse they will set you back $80-120 if they need to be replaced. My 06 was purchased used and it was a great buy. I want a new bow but it is hard to let this one go. I believe the heavier 06 is better suited to eastern whitetail hunting than the 07.
