Painting carbon arrows
I've got the itch to build my own arrows and have actually done a couple dozen.....Now I want to get fancy and start dipping and painting. What kind of paint do you normally use to paint carbon arrows? I'm assuming just any ol paint won't do......I don't really want to do any kind of cresting, just solid color stuff to start with....

I use Krylon or Rustoleum.I also use a sealer(polycrylic) to protect the paint. When dipping carbons, put something in the nock end so the paint will drip evenly off the shaft. If you don't,the paint will form a thick ring at the end

RE: Painting carbon arrows
I did one of the stupidest things I've ever done one year when I was about 15 years old and bored. I painted my 2117 XX75 Aluminum arrows with a spray paint out of a can. Them suckers were so noisy when I drawed my bow back it was nuts. The paint must of been too rough on the arrow. I painted the whole dozen and had to slowly take all the paint off of all the arrows. It sucked!! Lesson learned there for me!!!!!!

I use Laquer spray on mine. Works great and weighs far less than wraps. When I refletch a little acetone and it comes right off. The video below shows the process.
