Germ, I agree, and I don't cheer at the layoffs and plant closures of the "American" companies, but Toyota is certainly creating plenty of jobs for Americans as they openmore and more plants within our country. More and more American companies are closing plants and outsourcing which truly is sad, but then, why is this happening? Toyota rarely offers incentives comparable to that of the big three, yet they continue to grow. All I'm saying is something needs to change for it to turn around, and the answer isn't for people to just stop buying foreign. I PREFER to buy AMERICAN made products, but I WILL buy what I percieve to give me the most for my dollar, and based on personal experience (dad owns nothing but Ford trucks his whole life, brother-in-law has a 1500, countless friends own various chevy/ford trucks, and plenty also own Toyotas including me who owned a 96 Tacoma that I put 190,000 miles with very little ever done to it...hard miles, too) that's why I went with a Toyota.

I'm not bashing Ford, GM, Dodge, etc, nor am I saying Toyota is the end all be all... just my opinions on the subject.

Personal truck is '03 Dodge crew cab diesel 1-ton dually, work truck is 06' chevy 1/2 ton. Both serve do their job well.

Chevy Silverado, Z71 extended cab, 4x4 black withgrey leather. I tightened the torsion bar in front and added 285" BF Goodrich All terrains. Its a hell of a truck with a 5.7 Vortec motor with glasspacks.

I have had 3 Yota's but nothing has the haus that this truck has, without going up to the 2500's.

Just bought a new 08 1500 chevy. Just traded my 06 chevy diesel due to diesel being 90 cents higher than gas.

Chevy, But not because of any reason other than it fit my wants and needs at the time. I have nothing against Foreign..and when the time comes price and options are what it will boil down too..not, here or there.

2006 F-250 super duty crew cab, diesel. And my parents work for GM!
This is the first ford I've bought but my 4 previous chevy's all bought new were nothing but problems. So for now I guess I'm a ford man.

Isn't true alot of the foreign trucks like most Toyotas are built here while many of the domestic trucks,are getting parts and being assembled in Mexico or Canada?

Chevy all day the new ones get awesome mpg. That what I will get when I buy a new one I have bet the hell out of my 2000 blazer I pull a boat drive back and forth to the deer stand and do all kinds of crazy things with it. Just beat on it but yet all I do is the maintenance on it it shes good. Highway no boat 24mpg intown 16 pulling a boat it drinks gas at highway 15.72 cruise set at 80 if i do 67 she will get 18.62 on the highway but I like to have more time on the lake. Know my wifes care is a 2000 has 112K on it and still gets 39-42 on the highway both paid for and I will not get new car or truck until there beat in the dirt or if she get pregnant then She will get a new ride just for the fact my kids going to ride in style. Thinkin about the new malibus wife loves the new look.

Nissan too. Its funny, really when you look at where all the parts are from, and where the assemblies take place, there's no car or truck in the world that is really from any one country. They all have parts from all over the world, and are assembled in countries different than where the company is based, and most plants use Hyundai machines and robotics for assembly.
