Fair enough, xx......but that don't make it so.

An animal in it's second year would be referred to as a year-and-a-halfling. 3rd year = 2-year-and-a-halfling, ect.[:-]

A deer at exactly 1 year old is a yearling or else he is older than 1 year. Simple math.

We hunt wild deer, and have taken 1-1/2 year olds by accident with very big racks for the age and size. 14 point, 10 point, and a couple of 8's that I aged as first rack. biggest was the 10, about 125 inches. Young deer with good genetics can definatelyhave good head-gear, I have noticedover the years, that the pedical is small and racks have been spindly on the young ones.Hunting in Missouri.

We found one dead last year that scored 156 and thought it was a yearling but after further examination of its teeth turned out to be a 2 1/2 lacking any sort of mass. It's masses were all around 3 while its G1s and G2s pushed 12 inches amazing speciman.
