What About the Small Stuff?
Just curious to know what some of us sweat as far as "small stuff". With equipment, gear, clothing, entrance, exit to stand, what we do on stand, ect.
I know some of us are nit pickers, so let's hear it. I also realize what some of us consider small stuff, to others, might be a big deal. Just thought answers would be interesting. Thanks, LT By the way, my greatest pet peeve is getting in the tree only to have to pee 10 min later. Just drives me crazy.[:'(] |

I put my wallet in a zip lock bag for scent control. Some say thats going too far.

A sweaty leather wallet is a source of odor.

Scent control. When I was my clothes, I spray my hands down w/ scent eliminator, and wear latex gloves. I wash EVERYTHING. Towels, undies.....anything that will touch me gets washed in DDW. I'm so anal about it, I think I may have a touch of OCD. It almost drives me crazy, and it's almost like work.

Yeah mobow, scent prevention has become almost a job all season for me too. Kinda slows me down at times, but it's worth it.
I know there are a lot more anal hunters here than this. Come on guys, spit it out. LT |
RE: What About the Small Stuff?
I pick up deer droppings and bring them to my stand area on that days hunt. *Medical gloves on*
I also keep some frozen for when needed. |

Afraid to leave it in the truck where I have to park. I've had my truck broken into before.

Probably SOP...but when I hunted lock-ons.....I never let my haul line/bow touch the ground. I always tied it so it would be at eye level.

My biggest Pet Peeve is scent control and I go to all lengths to neutralize my scent as much as possible. I also hunt the wind and try to never be sloppy. Dan |
RE: What About the Small Stuff?
I'm extremely anal about my equipment; making sure its in excellent working condition. I strip my bows down completely twice a year to clean and lube everything. I'm constantly making sure all the screws and bolts are tight. I wax the string after everytime I shoot. I spin my arrows probably once a month.
I feel OCD now. [&:] |
