Only a Kisser?

What's the consensus on using a kisser button only and no peep sight?

My new back-up bow is the Martin Cheetah with a 30" ATA. Why is a short ATA a problem with only a kisser?

Thats all I use!!!!And I can hang with the best of them out to 50 yards and it seems to be easier and quicker while in hunting situations that are hapening fast!! Walt

Actually, I would ditch the kisser and keep the peep.

I shoot both, I tried to ditch the kisser, didn't work for me.

That's actually what they are supposed to be used for. Your not supposed to use both, one or the other. The kisser is an alternative to using a peep sight.

A peep is more accurate though, the downside is they don't perform well in low light.

For some, short AtoA bows are a little more difficult to shoot accurately. The least amount of attachments to a string the better as far as speed goes, and the less you have to go wrong. If you can shoot accurately without a peep that is good for they have certainly had their issues for many people. Personally I use a peep and it helps my accuracy a lot.

I use them both.

I have a kisser made out of serving thread (sort of like a fat tied on nock) and a peep.
Do I actually need both.....probably not, but having 2 references ensures that everything is lined up properly before I let the arrow go.

Ive only used a kisser the past two years---I feel comfortable without a peep, but my accuracy after 25 yards starts to suffer without one...I am going back to one after turkey season this year to prepare for the upcoming deer season.
