Anyone modified machined aluminum accessories?

I need to cut the arm off the top (the one that contains the arrow on a QAD) of my rest to make it fit my hunting bow. Has anyone had any success cuting machined aluminum (which is what I assume it's made of) with a Dremel tool?

If so....can I then use the same tool (different tip)to grind the cut smooth?

Thanks.

The tool will probably gum up and not make a nice cut at all. If I didn't have access to a mill which I do ;).. I'd PM bawannajim andsee if he'dfix it up for ya. He's a Machining Wizard.

Jeff, I hacksawed off the arm of a Trophy Taker Shakey Hunter to get centershot on two for a Switchback and a Parker for some friends and the dremeled smooth, both turned out great. Not sure if the launch arms of the TT rests are machined aluminum of that on your QAD arm?

It simply amazes me, that even through all of the debates, some of them rather heated and juvenille, that the people of this forum pull together and help each other out the way we do. It simply baffles me. I look around at the world around me and don't see NEAR the generosity and general "friendliness" that I witness on this forum on a daily basis.

It took me a while to get over the fact that I've made some very good friends.........ON THE INTERNET. Say that to yourself, it sounds weird. But facts is facts, and I have. I've learned more from the people of this forum than I ever would have otherwise.

I mean, here's a guy that Jeff simply sends a PM to, and voila. Amazing. Kudos to all. And thanks. ;)

Thats the truth Mobo. We all spend a lot of time together nearly everyday. Most of the "stuff" is just filler. But there is friendship there is helping each other. Heck I posted a question yesterday and TXJouneyman is mailing me literature. Another example of someone going above and beyond.

It's funny when you talk to guys from the site..We always laugh..You call and say hey it's Gr8atta2d form huntingnet..duh makes ya feel dirty lol.

LOL guys, and the common ground is, we're hunters. I truly doubt none of our real personalities are shown in the forums. I know I've had the pleasure to meet many members and I look forward (extremely) to meeting many more.

Heck it gets even better than that. I had a PM waiting to help ME. Thanks, again, Jim.

And I went home at lunch to find I had recieved something else I was looking for......29.5" mods. Just there....in a prority mail envelope. I'd sing this guy's praises but I don't want to set a precedent for him.

I've still got to send some instructional literature back to another member that sent it to me a while back. I'll do that, today. Thanks, RJ.

If I had to pay a $1 every time I called Rob for bow or hunting advice.....I would n't have been able to buy my last bow........or car.;)

TOO many to mention (good people).......

There are some WONDERFUL people on this site.
