I'll echo the Bear and PSE votes. As far as Ebay, get your measurements and shoot a few bows to find out what you like, then make sure you get pictures and check out the sellers feedback. Also, someebayers have no idea what they are selling and some are very knowlegable. If you are new to archery I would stick to buying from a store so you know exactly what you are getting and you know it will fit you.

PSE nova hands down the best set up bow for that money. In my opinion it shoots as good as a 500 dollar bow, and can be made very quiet.

RE: What bow?

I have an old PSE team fitzgeral nova. I paid a whopping 100 dolars for the whole setup (Sights, quiver, and rest included.) I changed the quiver to a 3 arrow Kwickee quiver. Other than that it setup and shoots great. I've killed several with it with no problems. 3 inch groups at 40 yards.

Don't get wrapped up in the newest fastest thing. Get the best bow you can afford that shoots well for you.

I see no point in spending 1300 bucks just to have the fastest, newest,,, etc.... (Sorry guys I don't) If I had more money I might try those bows but its not necesary to spend that kind of cash.

350 for a bow should get you a nice bow. Maybe not the fastest by some standards but plety fast enough. Get a few decent accesories (alot can be pent here too) but don't go overboard and you can have a great setup this fall for deer. Practice, practice, practice though before season.

Jason is right, you don't need a 1300$ set up to kill deer, though I have one and so do many of us, it is our passion and we don't mind spending the money. You can kill deer with all these bows, it is not the bow, it is the person shooting it. Go and find the best thing you can afford, good quality and shootability is what you want.

Bumpkin,
Go toa shop, get your drawlength measured, find out what draw-weight will work best for you, then sneak over here and see what you can find: http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=100 Some of the best deals you'll find, blow away what you can find on EBAY on a regular basis, and most of these bows are well cared for.

Here are a few.....
