Some people make me mad!!!
 

Me and a friend of mine were out hog hunting this afternoon and I came across a skull. When I picked it up I found that some one had shot or poached a buck and just let it lay and cut the antlers off. It didnt seem to be a real old buck the skull was small, like a young 4 point or a spike. Sorry I didnt have a camera to take a picture but I might have made some of yalls stomachs turn to see something that someone did that has no hunting ethic.

Perhaps your jumping to conclusions as well. There could be many possibilities, perhaps the person who cut the antlers out/off came across it dead as well and kept the antlers, or the shot it legally and found it late with the meat spoiled. Too many variables without knowing the story but if it was indeed poached, that's a damn shame.

yea its sick what some people will do. This year i found a body of a nice buck that had the antlers cut off and 4 bullet holes in the vitals but probly half the meat was still there......

I am not sure what a set of small horns would do for anyone but I can't say that I think like everyone. Did you see the hole? Trying to be optimistic. Maybe it died and they cut the antlers off.

You all mabey right but I found it about 50 yards off a gravel road. it just seemed wrong. The gravel road is about 500 yards off the main road, I might be jumping to conlusions, it just made me mad.

Rattling horns - somehave the opinion that rattlingwith smaller antlers will bring in deer quicker because the big boys know the differencein sound betweena big set and a small set, so theythink they've got an easy fight when they hear little horns rattling.

Thenyou can use them to make knife handles. Buttons. Flint knapping tools. Turn 'em on a lathe and make barrels for fancy pens. Horns aren't just for hanging on the wall. I'd saw off the horns of a dead deer if I came across it too... where legal of course.

Interesting, take me back to when you were a small child and the first time you went hunting with your dad. Did you always feel this sense of rage upon your first reactions?

LOL, just kidding man. I seen a deer on the side of the highway today that was banged up pretty badly and limping along so I called the police department in that city. Right away they asked me if it was the one in such and such of an area and I said yeah, that's right. They said oh, it's there every day. I said well, should it be put down? Their reply was no because it's a wild animal. Then I asked, did you call the DNR? They said no. That made me mad. Being it was Sunday and I had to work all night, I am going to call the DNR today and see if they can check it out and maybe do something.
