Went for a walk with my boys today
 

They were hell bent on going shed hunting.... evenmy 4 year old, he promised me "no belly-aching" ....so off we went instead of watching Nascar. We really did not have a lot of options since the snow is so deep, so we headed down low in elevation and climbed up on a mountainside that can get hit pretty hard, it setsjust above the lake. We saw one set of quad tracks in there and ended up having a great time.

The boys are growing up and they proved it, byhiking their butts off and we found 2 sheds, My oldest boy Jess found his first ever shed on his own! Little brother Ty proved to me he can handle the brush, the steep mountainsides aswehiked at least 2 miles. we alsospent a good deal of time deciphering different animal tracks, scat and analyzed a nice series of whitetailrubs..

Thats what its all about there Troy!!;) I remember the days of tripping over dads feet when hiking through the woods looking for sheds or up in Northern Minnesota checking his bear baits, god I miss them days as a kid!!! I hope I can do the same for my little girl as my parents did for me. Nice looking shed there too!!

I promise guys, I dont push the "cowboys" or whitetails on them..:D:D...for some reason they just like hanging out with dad and like his football team! Like Mean V said, I am gonna enjoy cause it wont be long and they'll be out working and out hunting me! that wont be too bad.. they can pack allthe elk out someday.. ;)

well, its two seasons old, but has good mass, tight curl ... I haven't taped it yet but I'dguesstimate its....just shy of 60 inches.. I'll get a tape on it and get back to you.. ;)

I get a kick out of that pic I posted above there.. You look in the background behind Tyson, back in the brush..... Jess is back there feverishly looking for the other side and I didnt prompt him.. he was all over it! ;)fun seeing them get so excited on their own..

Awesomepictures Troy, looks like they were having a great time. I dont think you will have much to worry about, you might loose their company for a few of their teenage years to the scent of a woman, but by the looks on their faces they will always come home in the fall to be with family and to reminisce and relive the hunts shared with their Dad in that great Idaho wilderness.

BTW thats more sheds then I found on my place yesterday(0). I did see some deer and turkeys tho..

I sure hope I can make it out there some day and hunt with you guys. It would be an awesome experiance.

Right on my four year old daughter has been asking me to take her. Unfortunately the wife and I are getting over the flu. As soon as we are both healthy we will be out there looking for sheds. Your boys look like they are having a blast!
