Which stabilizer?
Are any of you using the same stabilizer for hunting and 3D? I' m leaning heavily toward the stealth 6" hunter. Any other suggestions?

RE: Which stabilizer?
VABoy,
I' ve got the 6' Stealth and love it. I only hunt, though. It was the quietest of several that I tested. Good Luck, Trebark |
RE: Which stabilizer?
As long as it has vibration dampners built in, it will be a good one.

RE: Which stabilizer?
I had Jerry at Stealth make me a 5" that weighed 6.5 ozs. for my Bowtech mighty mite. Great stablizer and a super guy to deal with. The price for a custom stablizer was VERY reasonable and Jerry got it out in 2 days. THAT is customer service:). Don

RE: Which stabilizer?
I use the Golden Key-Futura 7-1/4" stabilizer. It is the same setup that I use for hunting. In fact I do not change a thing when shooting 3-D. I use the off season shooting to prepair for the real thing.

RE: Which stabilizer?
The NAP Shockblocker is good for both. It' s on the heavier side.

RE: Which stabilizer?
Vaboy, I have some friends that are making a 2 piece stabilizer that you can use short for hunting, and long for 3-d. They had a booth at the recent ASA shoot in Florida, and the muzzy guys took some in to their trailer and really liked them from what I heard. If interested let me know and I' ll give you a phone number.

Thanks for all the input. I called Stealth and decided to go with the 8" for now. It should be here by the weekend (I hope).

RE: Which stabilizer?
37" Beiter with 4 tuning modules, available in several colors! Just kidding ;).
The best thing is if you can try a bunch of different ones on your setup and find the one that " feels" best or improves your groups the most. JMO. -Chief |
RE: Which stabilizer?

RE: Which stabilizer?
I have a question on this topic.I use a 4in.Doinker for hunting and practice for it but see the target strictly guys using those long stabilizers and being on the cheap side, was wondering why not just use a piece of all thread rod(right size thread of course)that you could get at the hardware store for about 3$ for a 3ft. Has any other cheapskates tried this,is it not a good idea because of vibration problems, etc. and could any bow damage occur because of it?this is an idea for league target shooting only not hunting and I really dont want to spend an arm and an ear on one for just that. If your laughing reading this, keep in mind, some of us are driving an 1980 Ford Pinto still.[&o] Well, maybe just me.Hey,get that match away from my car kid.[:o]
