I started bowhunting when I was 14 years old with a bear recurve. I hunted from the ground, and went three years without getting a deer. I then bought a pro-line compound bow, and the second season I hunted with it I hit a big doe, and she got away. I sold the bow and gave up bow hunting for 21 years til my wife decided it was time for me to expand my hunting opportunities, and bought me a golden eagle pro formula bow. In the five years that I' ve hunted with that bow I' ve probably passed on 30 rack buck, either because the shot wasn' t perfect or it wasn' t the buck that I wanted. And I' ve killed 3 doe. I' ve also started passing on doe. If the shot isn' t picture perfect, I don' t take it! The modern bow equipment is so advanced compared to 20 years ago that I' ve found a new love, and I' m not looking back!

I have been seriously bowhunting for 3 years now, prior to that I predominantly gun hunted, and have killed 8.

I' ve been bowhunting for about ten years and have killed about twenty whitetails and one very large black bear. I have come very close on turkeys a few times, but haven' t managed to make it over that hurdle yet. It sure has been fun trying though. [8D]

30 years with bow, 60-80 WT.

Trapperdave, who you referring to? If it was my post, yes I have killed that many oer 34 years of hunting! If not my post, I apologize.

3 seasons with a bow, one kill. Got a new bow to replace the 20 year old Black Bear I got my first kill with. Man what a difference, I let a lot of deer walk with the old bow that I could have easily taken with my new bow. Man I am itching for next season.

It seems that there are a lot of us with under 15 deer. I am choosing to take that as growth in bowhunting rather than a lack of skills. Keep getting others involved.

It took me a couple of seasons to get my first, but since then I have gotten at least 1 every season. I' m working on breaking into double digits.
