Bow sight/ peep sight question...
How do you guys align you peep sight with your bow/pin sights?
Do you center one pin in the middle of the peep sight like this: ![]() Or do you focus on the whole pin guard like this: ![]() Ihave always centered one pin... |

I also use the bottom method. I have found that it's the better of the two for hunting. Having the entire sight in my view, I can easily move to the next pin or gap shoot or even judge distance by the spacing between the pins (works pretty good once you have established a"control size" for a given distance) Anyway, the point is I can do all of these things and still have an open and larger view of my intended target.
Also I think you would need a considerably smaller openingin your peep in order to get any consistency out of your shots. With the lower method you can encircle the sight ring with your peep ring and you have yet another way of "checking" your anchor. |

I center the pin in the center of the sight guard making sure that my peep circle is aligned with my sight circle.

Yup, center the whole gang.

RE: Bow sight/ peep sight question...
Yeah, center the sight in the peep. Make pin adjustments from there. Keeps everything the same, shot after shot.

WOW! I'm the only person that shoots by centering one pin in the peep sight...:D
Do you think I should get a larger peep sight? [&:] |
RE: Bow sight/ peep sight question...
Your way will work but you won't be as consistant or automatic nor shoot as well. That said, if you're only hunting your way will do fine. But there is a better way. LOL Your peep has to have a big enough opening to allow for you to have your sight ring inside your peep ring. It just works that way. LOL I shot your way for years and killed a ton of critters doing it. Peeps are cheap and can be reemed out.

Dude the peep in that first pic must be tiny lol.
If you are centering one pin with a normal sized peep, id bet its not too far off from centering the sight ring. You'd probably be able to switch methods easily, i know I did. I used to shoot your way back when I first picked up a bow, but found im more consistent with version 2. |

RE: Bow sight/ peep sight question...
Bottom if sight allows, top if it does not.
The reason I say this, I have a 1/4" verifier peep that centers perfectly with the housing on my 82nd. On my General, I temp have a older Hoyt sight, square and I center the pin in my 1/8" verifier peep. |
RE: Bow sight/ peep sight question...
I use the top method because my peep is small. After shooting in the vegas 3 spot indoor league here the last couple of months I want to change to a bigger peep to try the bottom method and hopefully improve my accuaracy.
