Bow Choices for 2008

I am planning on upgrading my bow for the next season and need a little help narrowing down my choices. My budget on the bare bow is about $500-550. I have looked into a few specific bows at Basspro but still can't seem to decide on one.

I looked at the following:
Diamond: The Rock
Fred Bear: Lights Out and Game Over
Parker: Raptor XP
Browning: Myst

The guy I talked to at BP saidall of these were very goodbows butstrongly recommended Parker based on their warranty and durability. However, I think it was mainly because that is what he has hunted with for the past 10 yrs. If you have any insights on these bows, or even any other brands in the price range, I would appreciate it.;)

Thanks

Out of those listed, I'd go with the Rock.

For the price its hard to beat. Even for being as short as it is it shoots awesome.

There is only one bow that bass pro sells that I would ever consider buying and shooting myself.... and that is a Black Ice. Save up some more $$$... its worth it. And apply for their credit card and you'll save 10% off the bow. When the bill comes, pay it off and cancel it. Its about the only way to get money off on stuff like that in big stores. If you buy anything else with the bow, you'll get 10% off on all of it too. Its a decent deal.

Check out the Bowtech TomKat! You should be able to find one in your price range. They are one of the most overlooked and under rated Bows on the market.

If you have narrowed itdown to these 4 bows shoot each one and then decide which really fits you the best!

I haven't necessarily narrowed it down to those 4. They are just some that I have heard very good things about in my price range. I would be interested to hear about some others that peoplehave had some experience with too. :D

That's why I mentioned the TomKat. It really is an under rated bow, it has the top technology in the Binary Cam systemwhich have smooth and speed mods available. Almost like having 2 bows in one. All in a price that most can afford.

I agree...take a look at the truth 2...IMO this bow is underarted

But for my choice...I like the Myst (because I own one) itsa great shooting bow.....but I cant make your choice for you...go shoot them all and see what you think...and make sure you give the Myst a try

I just bought a Martin Cheetah for my backup bow for less than $350.
