RE: scent elimination spray
Dead down wind makes a good spray, HAHAMechdoc its a funny thing you have that pic of that deer as your profile pic, its called the Omish buck i think, there was a rumor going around my town that a new state record was killed, and that was the deer. Someone got a pic of it on there cell phone and started sending it to everyone saying this is the deer. In like2 days everyone had heard of it.Come to find out it was all a big lie. A nice buck was killed but no state record and def. not that buck hes a monster, it was a pretty good story

RE: scent elimination spray
I have used nothing but Scent Killer my whole life. It stays on and keeps on killing odors while also killing them on contact. I've tried others but found nothing better.

RE: scent elimination spray
My all time favorite for quite a few years is the Scent Killer "Autumn Formula"line with the Scent Shield "Fall Blend" stuff a close second.........Me and Dead Down wind stuff just don't get along at all. The deoderant somehow makes me smellier than if I didn't use anything?:eek:Where Scent Killer white stick will keep me literally scent free all day long and into the night. I don't know if it's how my body chemistry reacts to it but it worked opposite for me.
Also I wasn't wild at all about the clothes wash as it left some odors in my undershirts that the other products took right out. And their mouth spray is holy crap nasty.[:'(] I gave it a try but obviously me and Dead Down Wind are never gonna get along. :D |
RE: scent elimination spray
LMAO I feel you on the mouth spray...I tried it driving down the road toa bowhunt one day because I was curious about the taste(it came in the kit).....long story short I almost wrecked rolling down the window to spit it out. After taste was worse than the initial taste as well.

For you guys who simply must try it.........brace yourself. LOL |

RE: scent elimination spray
I am a fan of Scent Killer regular spray and the Autumn formula spray. I usually will use some of both, but dont over do it. That Autumn or Fall blend smells just like rotting leaves and dirt, Im like a dog rollin around in fox #$%#$ with that stuff, love it. I also use the clothes wash and the pit stick.
I have used Scent Shield occassionally over the years and it seemed to work okay but I havent tried any other product so I cannot really give a verdict on them all. |
RE: scent elimination spray
I was in a Bear Camp a few years back a guy was using an earth scent or similar. It killed an active Bait, I meanit went dead. The outfitter made the guy wash his clothes, and told him to not use it anymore. He switched baits that night, and in 2 nights saw 8 different Bears. The second night he killed a beautiful Cinnamon Bear. I think hunters get too caught up in what we think smells real or should work. A lot of that type scent smells like something moldy. I think that Outfitter had a nose like a Bear he had smelled it, and knew something was wrong if that guy had not seen a Bear on that bait in 2 nights.
I strive to Smell like nothing! Possible? It's doubtful, but it doesn't keep me from trying. If someone comes in your house and starts burning a scented candle. It may not repulse you when you walk in the door, but you'll sure smell it and you'll be trying to see where it's coming from. Dan |
RE: scent elimination spray
I use my own spray. DDW for soap and shampoo. Scent-A-way underarm antiperspirant. I don't like using any cover scents. I'd rather smelllike nothing at all.

RE: scent elimination spray
I think because of each individual's chemical make up, some of the nuetralizers are better suited for some than others. This is just my own theory, but I don't know that 1 will work for everybody.
I happen to be a big fan of DDW. I've used Scent Killer in the past and didn't have nearly the positive results that I do w/ DDW. Yeah, that "maple flavor" is intersting, that's for sure. And the deodorant does have a bit of a sweet smell until it's dried, then it's gone. The E3 field spray is awesome, as are the bath and laundry soaps. |
RE: scent elimination spray
I prefer HS Scent-Away. I feel I have had good success with it. A few years a go I used Extreme Scents Scent elimination spray and loved that but shorlty after that they stopped making it. But mainly I use the HS scent elimination products.

RE: scent elimination spray
Another vote for Scent Killer. I've used both the Autumn Formula and the scent free spray. Can't say I've noticed a difference between the two. Of course if it's late in the season I use the scent free spray, no use smellin like dirt when there's snow on the ground.

RE: scent elimination spray
