Congrats on the find, Mike. Awesome photo to document his travel - definitely really cool. I can't believe you found that in the snow. Everytime I shed hunt in the snow, all I find is deer beds, pee stains and 100 pounds of poop. LOL

Now that you mention it, you are pretty photogenic. Maybe I'll talk to Janice Dikinson and discuss your potential for afuture in hunting-related fashion modeling. [:-] This photo definitely adds a nice touch to your portfolio, although I think you guys should do some more rugged glamour shots next time. Break out some pleather or let your beard get a little scruffy. Chicks dig that.

nice find! The shed is more valuable information. You know he made it through hunting season!
That is true, but a picture is worth a lot when it get's closer to next season.
Both good pieces of info.

I was looking at it as which is a better indicator of where to hunt him. I think if you are hunting him early then i would hunt by the apple trees. Later in the season he must be switching to a different food source.

Either way your on your way to maping out his "core area"

Should be a good one next year...
Good answer Micheal!! I agree.

RE: Of Shed and Trail Cam Picture..

A few weeks ago I watched a hunting show (whitetail freaks I think). They had some trail camera photos of an impressive buck, had an encounter with that buck the year earlier, and then found a shed. They mapped it out all the locations and found what they thought was the bucks bedding area. They killed that buck the first day they hunted that stand. I don't know if the photo or shed is more important, I would think it is all equal when mapping the deers core area. Either way, I would think you are on your way of getting close to this buck.
