I'm not a fan of the Fatboy. not very consistent, from my experience. Carbon Express CXL2 or Easton X7.

ORIGINAL: mobow I'm not a fan of the Fatboy. not very consistent, from my experience. Carbon Express CXL2 or Easton X7. And if you can shoot as good as mobow can, you can tell the difference. But something tells me mobow doesn't have to buy his arrows anymore ;) Quite honestly I take 3D archery kinda light hearted. Its practice, so I shoot my hunting set up... exactly as is... save broadheads anyway. Are you looking for STRICTLY a target arrow, or something that will work for both? |
RE: Gold Tip Hunter XT alternatives please
Something that works for both ideally . I looked at the GT X-Cutter , but they are pretty expensive .

You can turn to the company that used to manufacture all of Gold Tip's shafts... www.victoryarchery.com
I'll be giving these a shot this year after hearing some great reviews about their product and customer service. |
RE: Gold Tip Hunter XT alternatives please
I'm an Easton Fatboy fan. As well as Victory's shafts.
I would recommend either going with the Fatboy's or the Victory VX-22 HV's. Or just the regular VX-22's. However if you shoot more field archery than you do 3d's I would go with a slightly smaller arrow. |

Did you know that the Easton X7 goes for under $100/dozen?? And, the X7 would also make a good hunting arrow. They are a bit more brittle than sayan XX78, but I figure if they are good enough to shoot at a foam deer, why wouldn't they be good enough for a LIVE deer? |
