I dont have a picture on the computer but my second biggest accomplishment was shooting my first deer with a rifle "doe" with my dads best friend being there guiding me threw everything. Also shooting my first deer with a bow it was nothing bigbut big enough for my first deer! My first biggest is walking out of the woods alive.

ORIGINAL: Matt / PA

My biggest hunting accomplishment (as of today)would have to be arrowing my 2006 Buck. Mainly because my wife and I spent a lot of time scouting and patterning this buck before season opened... it was our target buck. Besides having a history with the buck, my wife was also wife me in the treestand when I arrowed the buck, which was a rewarding experience that we were both able to have together. Plus, it's my biggest buck ever, grossing 191 7/8, and also my 1st buck to arrow on video. We were both flying high, and having Casi there with me made everything just that much better.
Joey,
That's STILL one of my all time favorite pictures ever posted on HNI. :)
I second that MATT! Joey it couldnt have happened to better people...

I'm living a good example for my children, I think my wife after 12 years is still gladwe chose each otherand I think my parents are proud of the son they have in me.

Everything else pales in comparison as far as accomplishments

well mine consist of several things, seeing my son take hist first deer a six point buck with shotgun then seeing him take his first bow kill and several others after that. seeing him take five turkeys. and mine, well its a gun kill but im very proud of this buck. 159" gross and some change. my next goal is getting my eight year old through hunter safety course next month, then i can watch him grow as a hunter to:)

Last year, about this time too I got my girlfriend into archery (3D). We hunted together this fall for deer, but for several unforeseen and uncontrolable reasons could not connect on a deer together.

But the girl is now my to-be wife... and by June of last year she was shooting better scores than was I on the 3D course... so I guess I ought to quit playing and take up coaching.

I would have to say my biggest accomplishment is learning how to position myself and my stand better. When I was younger I would just go pick a spot that "looked good" and sometimes I would see deer and sometimes I wouldn't. As I have grown my hunting skills I now take more things into consideration when picking a stand. Wind direction, terrain, travel routes etc. I have seen more deer and bigger deer over the past few years and last year was my best season with a bow. I saw multiple bucks (2 nice 8's) and took my first buck with the bow as well. I know there are many more things to learn and improve upon but I know for certain that this is my biggest accomplishment to date.

Well I have many accomplishments that I am proud of and many that I'm not. But in the field I only have one, my first deer this year. With a bow and my first buck, I should be getting the mount back anytime here soon so once that happens I can add it to my accomplishments list. The main thing though is being able to share the hunting experience with my pastor who has spent many cold mornings and cold evenings in stand. It was very unfortunate that he was unable to venture out with me on this hunt, but one phone call seconds after watching the brute drop and he was practically sprinting to the spot. I still go over that shot in my head, how I was shaking when he stepped into the open field, but as soon as the bow was drawn it was like tunnel vision I placed the pin and steadied and fired I was not at full draw for more than 30 seconds. The next thing I know I'm shaking again and I'm hearing the arrow hit, I'm seeing it enter the deer, and I'm watching him on his death sprint...

Me after the shot...

Pastor Dave...

Mine is getting myself into the woods as noone in my family ever hunted...my dad fished alot so I spent alot of time around the bass waters.....but I bugged my parents so much for a gun that they finally relented and bought me an old 30/30 Winchester.....then the years of hunting public land with NO success. But it has all been worth it, for I am a better person because of the struggles/successes of hunting.
