How wide is this guy?
 

How wide do you guys think this guys is. Wish I got his other side in the photo. I think he is well over 20 inches. Most of our deer around here are at 16" at the ears, so he must be close to 25". Am I right or looking at the photo wrong?

Yeah, he's reasonablywide! Looks like his antlers grewout instead of massive. Maybe next year he will add some mass and keep that wide spread.

He looks to be around 25-30". Nice deer, but I'd let him get a bit more mass built up. In another 5-6 years he'll be a nice deer.

the angle of the picture makes it look like the main beam keeps going out farther than it really does...he aint too much past the ears if you look at the angle and the curve...hes out past the ears...but he aint no 25+! he aughta be REALLY nice next year when he picks up some mass and tine legnth!

heck...for all we know thats the only side he got! dont laugh...anythings possible...ive seen it many times...or thats his good side..the other could be a spike or a club...or just non-exsistant...but assuming he got both sides id say hes 18-19. maybbbbbe 20-21 but i doubt it

I want to retract my answer. After analyzing how the flash is refracting off of his main beam, I've got to say I think his other side is out past his ear at least 3 times farther than it is on the visible side. I'd have to say that thing is closer to 4 feet wide. Let 'em grow and you'll have yourself a dandy.

I'd say somewhere around 22-25" wide but he's gonna be a very nice deer next year!!!!

I would say 16-17 inches... 18 tops... You can see he has short main beams, it takes impressive main beams to achieve a 25+ inch inside spread :D

I say it is the angle of the ear and the angle of the photo compounding making it appear larger than it is.....

Im guessing from that most younger deer rarely exceed 18 to 20. let him grow up and add some mass and tine length will be really nice in 2 to 3 years.

Know what? I wanna retract my answer too and for the record,I think you're waaay wrong about 4ft wide. See,if you look at how the furthest reach of his rack is perfectly lined up with his rear leg, he's got a whole lot of width. Let me explain: Consider that a deer's body is close to 4 feetlong already. From the shoulder to beginning of the rear hock has got to be 3 feet. Take that times 2 equals 6 feet plus the distance between the bases which is probably 4-5 inches equals a spread that's closing in on 7 feet. Hey, just do the math.

I see what your saying, but you have forgotten to take into account that that deer is only probably 5 1/2-6 years old. When a deer is still in it's nymphyl stages it's only about 2/3 the size of an adult. So when we take that into account we can conclude that the deer's body is at most 3 feet long nose to tail, which when we fuigure up the math, and calculated the earth's rotation like was previously mentioned, we get exactly 4 feet 1 and 3/8 inches. Still an impressive spread by any account, but with another 5-6 years like I said earlier, he will be a monster.

He is wide, don't know how wide, hard to tell if his ear is all the way out or turned in some.

He'll make 20, that's for sure... Hard to say exactly since it's such a close pic.

Probably mid 20s... Great deer!
