It It was 60 at 5200 ft where we live and a 1 1/2 hour drive took us into this elk and muley country. The snow was so deep we had to turn around as the snow on the road was too deep.MOM/SWD and Ronflew in from KC,MO for the weekend and we took them sight seeing while I used the outing for scouting this public hunt area. These pics areapprox at 8000-9700 ft in elevation.























We then went out in the hills and looked for coyotes and played with the blazer today. The scenery is so diverse in NM.

Thanks, it is very beautiful here indeed. I have until April 9th to apply for my tags but must wait one more week before I apply to meet my 90 day residency requirements. So many decisions on what big game species to hunt and where I want to go. I have been researching and will be doing a lot more this week before I apply. I plan on getting quite a bit of use out of my walltent.

NM-CO; who cares.........we live in the same area; I will be in theNM area until I get the grand slam on all of the 11 Big game species here with my bow.You've killed the only two species in MN, broaden your horizens. Lots of need for heavy equipment operators out west. Hell, we are bowhunting CO for elk this year near Durango, get your crap packed. Over the counter tags bought the day of the hunt, Nice wall tent for a base camp. We'll see if you can leave Mom and Dad.[8D]

LOL. My address is P.O. Box The West. Pretty easy to find. You will know when you arrive in the west due to all of the peoples' happy faces from all of the big game species they get to hunt.:DIt is where loaded guns are allowed concealed in your vehicle with no permit , carry on your body concealed permits are handed out at the border , and thieves have no rights and can be shot while in your yd. Crime is low, wonder why.[8D]

Don, I'm envious!! I Love the West and NM in particular. It and Arizona are great states. Great place to ride Harleys also;)I have often thought of making the move. Congrats on having the guts to just do it!!:D
