Default What should my arrow length be?

I have a 28" draw, should my arrows be a couple of inches past that?

Also, I was reading that my arrows are 8.2 grains per inch. So this means that if my arrows were 30 inches per say, then the total weight of the arrow including a 100 grain Muzzy would equal 346 grains. Is this too light for deer hunting?

Im asking sort of the same thing, it's not too light to kill a deer, b/c I killed plenty of deer this year with 300 gr arrow!! Not on purpose I add!! My arrows now weigh 344 gr with the 90 gr BH, im waiting to see what I get from the guys on here.

Yep, I see your post. I guess I should be wondering about the spine on my bow too but I think that I should be safe shooting my Black Ice at that weight. As long as it kills deer dead then I should be good to go, hopefully.....

Dont forget to factor in the weight of insert, vanes, nock, wrap if you use them. My insert, 3 blazers, and nock weigh 43 grains by themselves. And i use 7 grain wraps.

Arrow length doesn't matter that much, alot of people use the rule of thumb of one inch past the arrow rest, atleast around here. IDK if thats a good rule to follow or not. I have a 29" DL with 28.5 inch shafts.

I forgot to subtract about 24 grains if I end up shooting a 27" arrow. I'm back down to approx 365 grains, still past 350 which is minimal from what my buddies told me, but I don't know.

My buddy bought the Truth 2 today and the guys set him up with a 355 gr arrow that was 27" long and it shot 313 fps. He said it was fine, the bow is set at 74 lbs pull.

That's pretty fast, I don't know what mine will shoot yet. The birth cert states 298 fps with a 350 grain arrow at 29" DL and 70 lb pull.

So where should that put me at if I have a 28" draw and shooting a 365 grain arrow at 65 lbs? I suppose I can lose the string silencers once I get my meanv suppressor too if that will help at all.

There is no "Absolute" length for you arrows. Length will be dictated by bow, rest and your form. If you're shooting a modern bow with a large cut out window you can go shorter. Your broadhead has to beable to clear the riser. The type of rest will determine the best length too. In theory you arrowsd should be cut to clear your pivot point on your rest by about an inch. Fine tuning with paper might show you should tweek it one way or another, but as a rule..1 inch.
