New hunting spot.. need help

So i got a new hunting spot for next year and i was wondering where to put my 2 treestands at.. Theres a big ridge with 1 nice tree and on that ridge theres 34 rubs but taht dont mean there will be deer up there next year, its about 10 or 15 yards wide and then it drops down to a valley on one side and a beaver pond/swamp on the other side and its all cleared out, then at the end of a ridge it drops down and theres a little opening by a old logging trail where there was a few beds and rubs down there to.. So my main question is where would you guys put it at? On the ridge, at the end of the ridge in the hole, or on the edge of the beaver swamp? Thanks

beaver swamp i hunt an area almost liek wat u r describing and i saw so many deer there they run them swamps alot and they have water if they would need it. plus alot of times there is cover like cattails and stuff were they can bed. if i was u i would set up before or after the pond but only like 50 ydds. eather way so u are near the creek were they cross alot. for me the majority of the deer i c they cross adove the pond. i would go up stream or down stream maybe try and find some oaks or a food sorce and set up a stand. hope i hleped

Do you have the ability to find the area you hunt on GoogleEarth or anything so you can get a topo map/aerial maps? If so, that could help you out a bunch.

Why not put up stands in both places? I have a small piece maybe 5 acres I hunt & have several locations for stands, depending on time of yr, day, weather, etc. Cover all your bases.

Yes i can find the area on Google earth but we dont have a good map for this area... You cant zoom in enough really. I haev like 3 or 4 spots picked out but the thing is i only have 2 treestands and 1 Tent.. Maybe i'll put up a home made ground blind. Thanks for the help
