RE: # of arrows you hunt with?
On two separate occassions in my life, I have ventured into the woods, with two arrows. Both were probably two of the more disappointing days in the woods.
Situations were similar. The day before, I took a doe, each time. 3 arrow quiver, and after doing some processing, simply forgetting to replace the 3rd arrow.
1st time: Shot at a nice buck (which I got a week later) @ 15 yards, and I watched it sail a foot over its back. It threw me off, as I am a decent shot. Adjusted accodingly, and watched the arrow again go a foot over its back. The buck was trailing a hot doe, and at the second shot...I swear he looked up at me, shook his head in disgust/laughter, and literally walked away with another minue or two worth of shooting opportunity.
30 seconds later....a huge 6 point without brow tines walks underneath the stand, maybe 10 inches from the ladder. Nothing like watching and not being able to do a darn thing about it.
After investigating, I found a nicely cut branch that absorbed the first shot. My second shot was off due to my correcting of the "percieved problem"
The second story is errily similar.
I go in with 3 arrows every time now.

3 here, but I don't "stump shoot" when I'm deer hunting. I have seen a couple of coyotes and raccoon I kind of wish I had a SGH with or something, but not shooting at crap I'm not really targeting is probably better anyway.
