Where do you anchor
 

Last yeara pro shopput a kisser button on my string and had me start anchoring with the kisser right under my nose and start using a different release. I was used to anchoring in the corner of my mouthwith the release I used previouslyand I think this new anchor point caused an errant shot this year because I was set up to anchor under my nose andin the heat of the moment I anchored in the corner of my mouth. After that I started thinking of why did he have me change my anchor and mostly why under my nose. I didn't want to change in mid season but I will go back to the corner anchor this year. I used to use a Winn Freerelease and it was so easy to put the corner of it to the side of my mouth. I think I'm going to go back to that this off season and see how it works out. Wasn't a problem before. So where do you anchor and why and does your release dictate where you anchor?

I don't have the slightest idea why he would have you anchor under your nose... I don't even know how that's possible. I understand having your nose on the string when you get anchored but it seems a little difficult to anchor under your nose. I anchor very near the corner of my mouth.

I anchor the release just even with the corner of my mouth. You may want to consider going back to a release like you were shooting before. I see you already said this though. Good luck

I place my thumb along the lower ridge of my jaw and the tip of my nose on the string. My release doesn't dictate my anchor because it's adjustable, I adjust the length so that when my hand (thumb along the jaw line) is in the proper position the string will be just touching the tip of my nose. That's how I know I'm anchored correctly and will work with even a fleece mask on.

I go with bigj. I have a few anchors. One my thumb under the back part of my jaw. Second, I have use a kisser on one compound.

I see all these form pictures with people with thier release arm behind thier jaw under thier ears, and I don't know how in the world they shoot.

Let me clairify, I don't anchor under my nose but rather put the kisser under my nose. I too don't see how it would be possable to anchor under the nose:D.

I think some guys call a small kisser or tied in nock point like you're describing as a "nosey". It's just another refenence point.
I put the string on the tip of my nose like bigj and bigcountry. You're still putting the release head below the corner of your mouth. I used to tie in a nock point to hit the tip of my nose when I started shooting this way. It's a good way to get your anchor consistant.

I put my index finger knuckle (the one on my hand) behind my ear lobe, kisser in the corner of my mouth, and have been fooling around with the string on the nose thing. Never really concentrated on that before so I'm just exploring new anchor possibilities. Also have a peep.
