What do they call it?

I saw a bow last week with a string supressor that screwed in from the back of where the stabilizer screws in. What does this actually help do?? What do they call it, and who makes them?? And are they worth it?

STS makes one and I forget the other company I know of. You gain a couple feet per sec and take some string vibration out of your shot. I know a guy who got tenis elbow from shootin so much and he put the sts on and has never had a problem since. Some people like em and makes a difference on their bow and some don't. WCL

The guy behind the counter at Gander had one on his bow and he said that it for quietness, but I would also think it would reduce kick and viabration?? Where can I look one up??

Obviously on his bow arm....huh, I've never heard of that before...there's that much vibration from some bows??

In my opinion a string suppressor is one of the best things you can do to improve your bow. It significantly reduces noise, reduces vibration, and eliminates the potential for the string to slap your wrist if you have that problem.

That's why so many new bows come that way from the manufacturer now. They just work.
