What is the biggest reason that brings you out every year? Consider this question in regards to bowhunting big game.

I think it is so awsome to have deer so close to you. Any deer, there is just something about it when they get into bow range.

This is what kills me...You climb your stand in the dark..wondering if you will see that buck you saw in velvet preseason scouting....or that monster on the trail cam you saw in July but never saw again....Or that plump doe you're looking to try out the new smoker on....

As the sun comes up you hear the sound of a crow, a chickadee, a red tail hawk...You lay motionless and off in the distance you hear the sound of leaves crackling...closer...and closer....you heart starts to pound and you go over and over your set up....waiting for that animal to hit the zone..
When should Idraw?...I'm at full draw...relax...breath....pick a spot.....Whack!! YEAH!!!

Although I didn't think I could narrow it down to one (and I didn't)....I read them again....and like this one, best.

Something about climbing a stand at 5AM and the anticipation..

I absolutely love this. From the second I get in my stand and dressed......until daylight......I cherish those times. Whether I'm napping......thinking.....or having a good talk.....It's these moments that I love the most.

Just sitting here thinking about it....I wonder why I don't do this out of season. I guess that would take the "special" out of it, though.;)

Hunting and archery is what mantains my sanity. I know that sounds sarcastic and a poor attempt at comedy, but I'm dead serious. Ummm, let's just say......the wife and I aren't best friends, and without archery and bowhunting I would have gone just plain mad.....room.....big.....padded walls...........

not good. It's an outlet....It keeps my mind occupied.
