Default 101st and 82nd Airborne ???????

I shot the 101st Airborne today. It was making a noticeable thump noise after the shot (and I'm not talking about the arrow hitting the target). It was enough of a noise to turn me off. One guy at the shop said they were still trying to find out what was causing it, while the other person said that he believed that the noise was inherent to the Airborne bows. Is this noise normal on the Airbornes, or was I shooting a lemon?

I've been shooting mine for a while now....and I have no idea what you experienced.

Rob/PA was probably shooting th efastest bow on the line in Harrisburg the other day....and someone (feloow board member)mentioned to him how quiet it was, comparatively.

Can't answer that one for ya.

I've heard it. I have a new 101st and 82nd...the 101st makes an odd thumping sound but not the 82nd. Put libsavers and cat whiskers and the sound is gone. Someone said the extra inch or so in limb length may have something to do with it. I bought the 82nd on a whim and was very surprised to find that it did not make any kind of noise like the 101st.

A shop owner told me yesterday that Bowtech's are more inconsistent than Hoyt or Mathews...not sure if that is true, but he says that is why he does not stock them even though he isw an authorized dealer.

I am happy with both now that the 101st is quiet.

Jeff's correct, he mentioned my 82nd. When I was on the line in Harrisburg with all the Hoyts, a Martin and a Mathews, I heard a comment in the crowd about my 82nd. Not only was it the fastest on the line, it was the quietest. (Not my words, that came from some members in the crowd).

I also heard comments how my arrow would rock the targets and nearly knocked over a strut gobbler target. I laughed.

That's what one of the shop guys said to me. Hesaid he hears it on the 101st, but not the 82nd.

I heard the same thumping when I shot the 101st and mentioned it in my review in early December ( http://www.hunting.net/forum/tm.aspx?m=2503752&mpage=1&key=airborne&amp ;#2503752 )my shop owner said he couldn't figure out where it was coming from (other then the string catcher). When the 82nd came in and we shot that one and the noise not as noticeable.
