Predator hunting with your bow...
Anybody do this religiously? I've done it several times and had a little bit of success but only when the terrain permits. I love shooting stuff with my bow, but there's something that gets me going about shooting at yote at 400 yards. (Please don't ban me from the bowhunting forum :D:D:D)
The only way i've done it is out of a double bull blind... anyone have any good ideas or any proven tactics? |

The funny thing is, is when i have my bow and a yote comes by, im thinking the next world record buck is just around the corner so i dont shoot.[&:] The next season, anything that moves is done for!:D

Been trying with a rifle Darn things never come from were I think they should!
Have shot the odd one with my bow over the years while hunting deer and one that came in to a turkey set up . It would be quite a challeng to huntcoyotes with a bow , any one that can do that shouldget a tip of the hatfor sure. |

I get multiple opportunities at yote's every year while bowhunting whitetail deer. It seems yote's use the same travel corridor's and funnels that whitetail use. You just have to use the wind better and really pay attention to scent control. I always see yote's as a good omen of my hunting strategy and scent control. If I can fool one of those bugger's noses.. I can certainly fool a whitetail's too.
These two were taken this season by bow within 1 minute of each other. The first was a male (soon to be a rug) and the second was a female.  |

Thanks Dubbya... It was taken by a rock. I didn't have anyone with me that day.. so I put the camera on timer and had to run back behind the yote's.
I wouldv'e liked to get my bow in the pic... but you can't win them all. |

I have seen yotes bow hunting, never came close. I have had them actually chase some deer to me. I have shot one during shotgun season, but not bow.

I've been fortunate to take 3 yotes, first with a bow, a year later, same tree, same spot I took one with a rifle and then that spring I dusted one when he busted two gobblers I had coming to my setup and sweet calls! I've never actually targeted them but took them as an opportunity.:D
