Too early to look ahead?

Vacation scheduling and such has me looking at my days off for next season. Between Oct 1 & Nov 30 I will have 25 full days off to hunt(Counting weekends). 14 of which will be during the span of Oct 24-Nov 16th. :D

A small trade off that goes along with that is that I will probably not get many evenings after work like I usually do. Maybe a couple real early. I think it is worth it though, it was stressful to deal with traffic and long days this past season, just to hunt not real prime locations. So I guess its a little more quality over quantity thing as well.

It's never too early Rybo. Justin and I have been discussing our hunting vacation days already as well. We always try to base them after that darn full moon..

It will take me a good 2 months from now to finally get down the dates. Have to check with the wife..[&:]

It is never too early. I post the dates for my hunting vacations at work three weeks ago. My co-workers know where I am going to be come late Oct and Nov.

What he said. We pretty much know which weekends we're going to be off already and November is 9 months away. Its never too early to start planning this stuff out, especially when you have to plan in conjunction with others, and get clearance from the tower first.

And remember, extra flowers on V-Day now pays dividends when that cold front moves in on November 8th and you want to sneak out a few days before you had planned. :D

I've already scheduled 5 days off in November. Since I won't be hunting elsewhere except perhaps a few weekend hunts to Shawnee, I can hunt every evening through the week due to working 3rd shift all of the time now. I can even hunt mornings if I feel like it after work.

Assuming the proposed seasons are locked in, I'll be off from 11/8 to 11/16, and will be splitting that time between Dan's place in NY and mine in PA.

Ya right !! I got your pm rubbing it in !! [8D] :D

Harvest decides when we get to hunt with Troy for elk in September.

Otherwise here, I will take a week off before the rifles come out late Oct/early November. Then take a week off during Xmas/New years for some late season bow hunting if I haven't shot a buck yet.

Mine is all over the map this year........I have 3 weeks vacation, 1 full week plus a travel day Friday (6 total) will be the last week of October in IL with Greg. I need another 8 days minimum just to make the entire IBO Triple Crown and World Championships, and a few days scattered here and there for turkey hunting with Rob and RJ and some fishing.

I'm already booked solid. :eek:Yikes.

RE: Too early to look ahead?

I always know I'll be bowhunting deer in IL in the fall, anythign else depends whether I draw some great tag somewhere, if the tag comes, I'll have to rearrange some things according to priority of course, and that great tag takes priority.

I am already looking ahead...this is usually my hunting world as of late...September--hunt 10 days or so after or before--mostly 4-5 hour sits. Then I will schedule my vacation to fall between October 31-Nov 20th or so....hunt like HELL....then slow down for a couple of weeks until I start hunting alot again in later December...keeps me fresh and enjoying the hunt. I will take off probably Oct 31-Nov. 22 or so this year....going all out again.
