I just upgraded from the PSE Spyder, it was a good starter bow and I took deer with it the past two years but you are right it was getting a little too kiddy for me too. I went with the Bear Truth, and for the money I think the Bear line of bows is the best value in archery.

RE: Whats the best bow for the money?

I bought a new bow this year. I think I had my old bow for 14 years. I couldnt believe the prices. I ended up buying a bow made by bow tech that was made for sportsmans warehouse chain stores. they had a special promotion for a new store opening. $150 in store cash if you spend 500. The bow w/ site, quiver, rest was 450. I bought a few things which brought the total to over 500 and used the 150 to buy arrows and heads. so for 500 + tax I got a new bow. I would like to add that I shot many of the popular bows which cost 700 and up for just the bow and can say that this bow shoots right with them.

Huge fan of Bowtech's Diamond line. My buddy got a nice Parker package for around 500 from Gander Mtn. I was impressed by the price of a Bear at Dick's Sporting goods. It was like 300 bucks with a trophy ridge drop zone rest and a flatliner sight. That seemed like a real deal to me if someone was restricted to under 400.
