OMG, now I am totally mental
I have no idea what to do, I am taking up bowling

No sights means I can cant my bow any way I want toand still maintain the same sight picture. As long as my eye stays the same distance away and directly over the arrow, I've got no problem with cant.

I don't know about any of this. How about this: My bow shoots flat out to 20 yards. I'd be willing to bet that if you can explain why at 3 yards I have to use my 30 yard pin, the answers would be related.
Here's another good one......what pin would you use if you were shooting straight down?

Do you shoot trad, only? Mostly?
Barebow is even easier to do well with a compound than it is with a recurve or longbow, so that's why my ProTec doesn't usually wear sights any more (in fact, I had to set it up last night and sight in this morning to do this experiment). The ProTec is my 'orthopedic recurve.'

I should leave this alone but what I am trying to say is
if the vertical line represents your bow and the short horizontal represents your sight pin and you cant the bow to the rightat the grip(vert & horizontal line intersect) the line which represents the sight pin goes up/right initially because the pivot point is the grip not the pin.
Unless you have a Whisker Biscuit, that will throw everything out of whack.

If you're going to try to hit the sme spot (what this thread's ALL about).....why wouldn't you just START with your pin on the target.....leave it there.....and cant your bow 45 deg?
Wouldn't that make it simple?
