I can't help myself!!!
Ok, it seems Bowtech is really taking off, and literally walking away from all other brands, including Mathews. Im not a Bowtech guy, don't own one and never have, but it just seems this forum is loaded with Bowtech customers, not a bad thing!! So, my question is, has Bowtech become the new "Mathews"??? The pennical??

RE: I can't help myself!!!
The new Matthews? youll catch it for that one:D...
how dare you even put the two in the same sentence. (I kid...) |
RE: I can't help myself!!!
Depends on where you're at.
HNI is a Bowtech heavy forum. I believe they're high on the list, yes, but I don't think they're yetsuperior to every other brand on the market. |
RE: I can't help myself!!!
I would say yes. Although others will dispute, I think the technology and attention to detail, along with customer service and support(trying to be no.1 rather than being no.1) has put them on top of the pile.

RE: I can't help myself!!!
I don't knowKyle, is that what it is, or is Bowtech that damn good of a product. I remember Mathews used to seem like it was the epitomy of bows. Did they price themselves right out of the market? Did they stop making quality products? Or, did someone finaly "catch them" as they say?? I don't know really??

RE: I can't help myself!!!
I only ever shot matthews and never shot a bowtech i cant see mathews going on the back burner and bowtech taking over
|
RE: I can't help myself!!!
ive shot mathews for the last 8 yrs. i think they make great bows but i think bowtech is surpassing them on the developement of the technology and speed. mathews seems to just come out with the same bows every year but just puts a new name on them. that is just my own opinion. i may be buying a new bow this year and im really considering a bowtech. my brother-in-law (goherd1111) bought one this past year and i have shot it a few times and it feels really great. but i may just use my switchback for a few more years who knows.

I just seems to me that Bowtech has a little more Want-To that everyone else. I would say they are at the top when it comes to using their resources and daring to try something radical. I still love my bear though!;)

RE: I can't help myself!!!
I'm a Hoyt/Reflex guy, last 4 bows have been one of the other, but I will admit (first part of the 12 step program for archery addicts;)) that the Bowtech bows, have caught my interest. Though I'm more interested in the Allegiance and 101st than the General or Guardian and 82nd, because I like a little longer BH, longer ATA, and these seem to be likely contenders for what I'd want in a bow moreso than the others. Also, I've touted the Tomcat as what would be one of the best bows for a beginner out there, because they have such a nice long BH, and aren't super short.

RE: I can't help myself!!!
I think Bowtech has Surpassed Mathews IMO. They have come a long way in a short time to be where they are today! The shop I go to at school is the largest Mathews dealer in Missouri, and now what other brand has he got in his shop? That's right Bowtech. I go in there and shoot about 2-3 times a week and everytime i do i hear people wanting to shoot the Bowtechs, and have even seen many people purchse one. I find it funny that a lot the Mathews guys now shoot bowtechs at this shop. So to sum it up yes Bowtech has Surpassed Mathews.

Actually, I wish I could afford a Hoyt andMathews as well. I think they are all great! |
RE: I can't help myself!!!
I frequent two local Bowshops here in Minneapolis who sell Mathews, Bowtech, Hoyt, and PSE. Both shops sell more Mathews by a good margin than all of the others combined. Especially here in MN you close to the manufacturer and all of the shops say Mathews has the best warranty and customer service in the business bar one. They should know, because they order parts from all of the big manufacturers. I think bowtech and hoyt both make great porducts. Bowtech is trying some new designs which is good, they need to shake up the market and try new things. That in itself doesn't make them better than anyone else. I shot bows from all of the big manufacturers and still bought a Mathews. If you look at the new genereal and guardian there are just too many moving parts, there are clips and screws every place you look. Too much to go wrong in my book, it's a bow, they used to just be a piece of wood.

I have shot a Mathews most of my life and now going to try out the Bowtech general and the guardian.....seems to me Mathews is just coming out with the same bows and just putting their name on them as they have good marketing...I wish they would of came out with something better this year.

RE: I can't help myself!!!
Vab
Here in the great USA we love the underdogs. It was not to long ago Mathews was the Evil company of the bow world. So bowhunters looked for their shining knight to whack mathews off the mountain. Now that bowtech is claiming the top of the mountain a new knight most come forward. Remember there was Bear Mountain Pearson Mountain Highcontry Mountain Hoyt Mountain PSE Mountain Mathews Mountain All at one time were King and there was no better. Just look no further than NE and NYG game on Sunday.;) We love to make a person oritem the best and than tear it down, and that sad truth is we're getting really good at it. Viva La ROSS:D |
RE: I can't help myself!!!
I always thought Mathews was the best, and I have never owned one, I just always heard good things about them. Now, Bowtech seems to be reaching that point, but I do not knock any brand, they all have at least one top notch bow I think.
|
RE: I can't help myself!!!
I think the one thing that you need to remember Bowtech is a fairly new company. I can remember when Mathews was the "New" company pushing thier solocam bows andmost people that shot them thought that they were the biggest innovator in the business. So give Bowtech another 8-10 years and see if they still seem like they're the most innovative.

You can make more dots and write Hoyt again, They seem to stay the same year after year..maybe next year they'll add more flames on the riser or make a Groundhog shaped Sight?? ....HOYT ! ![]() I used to shoot A Hoyt..and am not on anyones staff..I pay full price and still Shoot a Bowtech. Next time I buy I'll look at whats out there with an open mind and see who's doing what. I know if I was buying this year, who that would be, and it starts with a Bow and ends with a Tech. |
RE: I can't help myself!!!
I don't know who's on top and who's not. Mathews make some really good bows but watching the shoot in Harrisburg when the line was full there was not a single Mathews on the line.

RE: I can't help myself!!!
I've recently began considering a new bow as my old PSE is shooting at 225fps. I've shot the Vectrix and the General and was very impressed. I also shot the 101st Airborne and was not impressed. I guess I really like the smoother more forgiving bows. I can tell you one thing I'm going to shoot a few more bows before making my descision.
