Bow Case

What is everyone using for a hard case to transport a 36inch or longeraxle-to-axle bow aboard an aircraft? Last yearI purchased a SKB parallel Limb bow case to fly with, the problem is that it will not fit a bow longer than 34 inches ata. I want to purchase an Airborne in the future, but don't know of a good case to fit it.(not to mention I don't want to drop another 250$)

Good thread. I've gotta pull the trigger on one of these, soon. I was thinking SKB all the way.....but I've never heard of the two previously mentioned. I'll check them out as well.

EDIT: That Lakewood won't suit my purposes. I need to be able to fly with mine....and I wouldn't trust my bow in that case.

I just picked up the SKB Freedom case. Very nice and sturdy. I have read some mixed reviews on this case, but I am very satisfied.

They say that it is strong enought that a average sized man can stand on it.

Yeah but I've seen this case in a shop, somewhere. I KNOW I won't trust my bows in one. Have you seen one, up close?

Just looked at one yesterday and i thought it looked like a nice case but its whatever your preferience is. And i wouldent be comfortable with my bow on a planeno matter what the case isjust cuz I know that they lose a lot of stuff. But im sure that the skb will be a better case for flying.

I have the SKB rectangle bow case, which holds my Vectrix XL (36") nicely, withPLENTYof extra room for other "stuff". Contents are insured against breakage. Peace of mind is good.:DIt's a great case, I just wouldn't put 2 bows in it though.;)

RE: Bow Case

So I did a search for Vanguard bow cases and found this website:

http://www.keystonecountrystore.com/Hard_Bow_Cases.html

They have a good selection and i will probably look towards the Vanguard or a SKB that will fit the longer ATA. I will tell you that I have had good experience with the SKB that I have, fit and finish are good. It held up great when I traveled with southwest airlines, but for some reason I think that they just serve up a better flying experience all around. I definately want something sturdy to protect a $700 bow.

Thanks Mobow
