My Homemade Cresting Lathe
Well I finally got my cresting lathe up and running! I used an old sewing machine motor and the foot switch, some scrap wood from the shop at one of my theatres and some stain that was laying around!
Motor= $12.00 Foot Switch=$15.00 Testors paint=$7.50 Hairline Camel hair Brush=$3.00 1/8 Camel Hair Shade Brush $3.50 ---------------------------------------- $41.00 dollars and some change and I'm cresting arrows! I was having problems at first with the dimmer switch, all it would do was turn it on/off no speed control. Then I tried a ceiling fan speed control, same thing. I then said hell with it and I'll try the Foot switch from a sewing machine. I'm so glad I did. Much easier to control, tap it and the arrow spins enough times to get it keep it under control and stop on a dime! I thought this way was going to be a hassle but much to my surprise its much better! Anyway I took a few pics and I'm going to crest some arrows and see how it goes! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
