whisker biscuit VS Drop away
I use a Whisker Biscuit now, Why should I switch over to a drop away? and has anyone used that new magnetic rest?

RE: whisker biscuit VS Drop away
If it ain't broken don't fix it!
BTW, I shoot a drop-away. |
RE: whisker biscuit VS Drop away
Depends on what you're doing! Whisker bisket is a decent hunting rest because it contains your arrow so well.. Personally I wouldn't go back to one as I find the TR drop away to be a very good rest. I ruined too many fletchings practicing through WB's.

RE: whisker biscuit VS Drop away
That is true I have had alot of Fletchings ripped off. But I shoot great with the W/B.

RE: whisker biscuit VS Drop away
I use to use the prong style rest, but I switched to an ultra rest and instantly my shooting improved. It contains your arrow just like a whisker biscuit, it even stays locked in place until the shot. You load your arrow, cock your rest and the arrow stays in place as if it were on a regular style rest, then when the bow is shot the rest falls. It really is a great rest.

RE: whisker biscuit VS Drop away
My WB used to beat up my fletching when i shot plastic, now i should feathers and don't have a problem. The feathers give a little going through the WB and then spring back to shape and fly great

Oh and i forgot to mention that i like the peace of mind i get from using a WB that i'm not going to have an arrow fall off my rest and clang around when i have a deer in front of me and i'm all shook up. Some of the drop aways might get you just a little bit more accuracy (i don't know for sure i have never used them, but i understand the theory) but in most hunting situations it is a moot point.

RE: whisker biscuit VS Drop away
Drop Away gives more speed usually, and it also has less contact with the arrow upon release. I will never shoot anything but a drop away rest again.

RE: whisker biscuit VS Drop away
Whisker biscuit vs Drop away is like comparing apples to grapefruit. Two different kinds of rests with work in a different way. The whisker biscuit, prong style and flipper rest are what ever has a pivot point because the arrow rides on are has close contact to the rest all the way through the shot. A drop away is gone so there's no pivot point are contact to the back of the arrow. Your handle can move all it whats after the shot because there's no rest under are beside the arrow and any thing there for the vanes to hit to screw up the shot. They are more forgivening and thats way the new ones made for bowhunters are used so much today. The whisker biscuit puts the arrow farther behind the pivot point like a over draw with magnifies it and has contact with all three vanes. I do be leave thats way the whisker works for some archers is because the three vane contact helps to straighten the arrow out leaving the bow. The pivot point is right were the hole is on your riser are were your hand make contact with the riser. That way the bow companies put the hole were it is.
