Do you line them up?
I have heard that you need to line up the vanes up with the broadhead. My question is does it really matter and if i use carbon arrows how do you line them up if the glue is already set?

RE: Do you line them up?
I've never lined up anything like that. Some people say it helps. Maybe if you shoot straight vanes? I also use 4 bladed broadheads so it would be hard to line them up with 3 vanes.

RE: Do you line them up?
I have never lined up broad heads with the vains or feathers.
Over the years I have used 2,3 and 4 blade heads. ![]() Aussie by birth Texan by choice |
RE: Do you line them up?
Some folks line them up some don't, I always line them up because it's a mind thing, but you don't have to line them up. My son and I shoot exactly the same arrow ics 400 3 fletch 125grn muzzy I line mine up he does'nt and both fly identical out of tuned bows. muzzys don't come with rubber o rings so I install them and that allows me the luxury to tighten them so my broadhead lines up with fletchings. kodiakhuntmaster makes a good point regarding 4 bladed broadheads and arrows with 3 vanes and he has no problem. elknut1.

RE: Do you line them up?
I line them up, but it doesn't make a difference in shooting at all. I just do it because its more of a mental thing.

RE: Do you line them up?
I like to adjust my broadheads so that they are all oriented the same but pay little attention to whether or not they are lined up with the vanes.

RE: Do you line them up?
All you need to worry about is if your broadhead is on the shaft straight. It makes no difference at all, if the fletchings line up with the blades. (like KM said...how do you line up 2 or 4 blade heads with 3 fletch arrows?)
Tune your heads to your shaft, and you won't have any problems(assuming your setup is tuned properly). Also, the bigger the head, the larger fletching you may want to use. Most folks can use 4", personally I like 5". |
