I've been using the Nikon 440 for a few years now and really like it. It's had the same battery since I purchased it and the only time its failed me was in a fairly thick fog.

Depends on how much you want to spend...I have a older Bushnell sport I paid over 200 for it back then now its under 200.I was just at the store yesterday and was looking at True Balistic range(gun/archery)one for 499.00,good to 600yrds it was a leopold(spl)gx3 or gs3 something like that.....

I am looking at picking up a nikon 440, they are priced under $200 and from what I hear about them is that they are a great little unit for bowhunting clear and reliable.

yep i use a range finder...can't judge distance (short distance) to save my life...if i could of i would have hit the 3x3 this year when he was 22 yards, but i shot for 30[:@]

this is the rangefinder i have and you cant beat the thing with the true ballistic range, it also has a fog and rain setting, this leupold is hard to beat.

i use the nikon monarch 800, love it. i looked at several top brands last year and settled on this one. i bought mine off ebay and saved about $100. if i was you, goto a sporting good store and pick each one up and look through it to find which one fits you. at first i wanted the monarch 1200, but when i held it, i realized it was too fat for me. i also really liked the nikon 440, but the viewer is really small and hard on my eyes. i also checked out several new models with arc. i like the idea of arc, but i didn't like the bushnell model, a little big for me. and the other brand with arc was getting really bad reviews on the net. but i did like the overall feel of it though. hope i was helpful.ps if you think about buying one from ebay, make sure it's new and not used or rebuilt. i've bought two now from the same guy. no problems yet.
