I don't do it.. competitive archery that is.. not sex.

I see nothing wrong with the gents who do the competitive thing. I just choose, like you Fran, to shed hunt and scout much more. And when I'm not doing that.. I'm reading about whitetail.. photographing whitetail whatever.

I just don't do the competitve archery thing.:)

Germster, you nancy- I know what the biggest deer in my area look like...I'm doing just fine. ;) 200+ guys in my local buck pool, and my deer would've taken 2nd if entered. 1st in 2000, Top 5 in '01 and '04.
I want in on THAT buck pool :D
Well stop hanging out with those guys[8D] They are dragging you down;)

Fran the 200+ guys at my club who hunt the same area as me; well you would have spanked them also this year;)

Mike - don't mess with Germ. He'll come at you like a spider monkey if you renege on your promises.

Jeff -I still think you heard what you wanted to hear, instead of what was actually said. Although I guess I can see how you could've interpreted it that way...

So I can take you off the "mad list?" *scratches Jeff's name off the list*

You guys are just gonna have to face it: Sometimes the King brings down thunderous proclaimationsthat aren't popular with all the minions. He doesn't tow the company line. His opinion is not clouded by fear of political implication. He is, and will continue to be, the man.

Off topic: How much longer should "The King" bit continue? I'm particularly amused by it - seeing how it's kinda slow right now.

I have never been interested in it Fran, I'd rather be shed hunting and out in the woods.

I do like the fact that I can now shoot in our HNI online indoor league because it takes up very little time, No travel time or travel expense, no time away from my kids/wife or home. It forces me to practice more during Jan and Feb when I rarely shoot. I now care a little more about practicing in the offseason than I did before.

..still though, I'd much rather be out shed hunting and scouting.. but since the snow is 2 feet deep here.. I am liking the online thing this winter, I may fade once the snow starts melting!;)

Will I ever shoot competatively ...have to travel and hang out with a bunch of archers.. I doubt it.. It just doesnt make my priority list..

I must admit.. I too am amused by this.

RE: Bowhunters - Competitive archery - do you do it?

Back on topic - I shot an FITA course with Rybo, Mark (WTF) and Scott (Buckeye) a while back - and it was fun. Really long shots, with big backstops andminimal chance of ever losing an arrow.

I could never do it on a regular or competitive basis, but I'd definitely like to walk that course a couple times a year, just to tinker around.

You folks who have never met Buckeye, Rybo or Mark in person - great guys. Really good guys to shoot with - so I guess a huge component of this whole discussion isn't so much whether you're shooting competitively or not, but "who" you're shooting with. I could shoot with those guys anytime, and it would keep my interest.

I've shot spots, and I've shot 3d - but nothing was as fun as the day we were shooting FITA. Some of the guys at our local shops are real sticks in the mud - so that's a big turnoff, for me at least.
