Brightest Pins?
What sight has the brightest fiber optic pins?
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
the brightest i've seen are impact, and vital bow gear
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
The brightest I've seen are on the Viper.
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
My Extreme RT 900 pins are really bright. But I haven't compared them to all the others. Just couldn't imagine them being any brighter.
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
The brightest I've ever seen w/out the aid of a light is the Cobra Sidewinder series. In fact, I dare say they may be TOO bright.

RE: Brightest Pins?
The new Copper Johns .. The pro hunter 2 I am using is unreal.. I took them off the shelf at Sportsmans warehouse along with every other wrapped site they had, went to the back room, shut the lights off andand hands down the CJ ruled ...

RE: Brightest Pins?
I am in the market for a new pendulum and after looking at many different compinies both fixed and pendulum I thought the Vital Bow Gear was the brightest. So I ordered a Camel Back Pendulum.
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
I like Vital Gear also....
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
I had a HHI Sight that was really really bright and i jest bought a Extreme 100 sight and it is almost a bright.
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
Be careful to not fall into the trap that the brightest is always the best. -Some of them willcreate a "halo" effect around the pin.
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
Sword Acusite and Vipor both have very bright pins. They draw light very well and I like both sightslight location. No haze in the ring.

RE: Brightest Pins?
ORIGINAL: stikbow26 Hands down vital bow gear!! I've owned two different Vital Bow Gear sights (Pro Slide and Pro Fix). My King Cobra 1 single pin slider is brighter (and more durable - because the fiber optics are protected) than both of my Vital Bow Gear sights. |
RE: Brightest Pins?
Ya i had that problem 3-d shooting in the summer HHA sight
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
A second vote for the Cobra Sidewinder, amazingly bright pins. Despite some opinions, Cobra is a good company.

Here's a good "case in point" as to why I love the Viper.
I had times this year (I posted about it) when I could NOT make out the headgear on a deer below me with my Nikons (Monarch ATB 8x42's).....but I COULD still see my top pin on my Viper sight. ;) (And no....I didn't shoot) |
RE: Brightest Pins?
The sidewinder series is bright, butI believe that the Extreme and Impact have the two brightest around. I have owned all three and will probably stick with Extreme now, no halo and super bright pins. On that note thoughtI stayed on stand this year untilI couldnt see the deer any longer, to see how bright my pins are past legal shooting time, and I could still see them 10 mins after legal light here.

RE: Brightest Pins?
Has anybody ever seen the wrapped fiber-optic pins on an Impact sight? I have the "Cosmic" on my bow right now (I was playing a game of "musical sights") and this sucker is really bright.

RE: Brightest Pins?
The HHA sights with 10' of fiber optic and the ability to tone them down when you don't need all that light gathering ability is Awesome!!!:D

RE: Brightest Pins?
Dan, Are you using this sight and how is it in an actual situation where you have to move the pin?

RE: Brightest Pins?
ORIGINAL: Geronimo Dan, Are you using this sight and how is it in an actual situation where you have to move the pin? As a matter of fact all my hunting bows will be sporting these sights before next hunting season. They have impressed me that much. Anymore I prefer a single pin rear adjustable sight. For Multi pin sights I still think the Spot Hoggs with the new wraps reign supreme:D Dan |
RE: Brightest Pins?
i have a tru glo, and there pretty bright, but i am sure there is alot brighter, like viper, or cobra, and copper john.
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
How about the lights you can attach to sights such as the PSE's. Anyone try these? If so, how do they perform?
|
RE: Brightest Pins?
The brightest sight I've used by far is the new Copper John sight. It's brighter than the Viper, Trophy Ridge, Extreme, and Spot Hogg sights that I've used. The one thing I will say is that all of the sights I mentioned were bright enough that I could still see the pin through my peep when it was dark enough that I could not make out what a deer was at less than 10 yards other than a deer. It's to the point that sights are bright enough that you don't need anything more.

RE: Brightest Pins?
Dan, How does the slide work is it moved by turning a dial?

RE: Brightest Pins?
I have to agree, that the COBRA Sidewinder is VERY BRIGHT, but I didn't have the Halo issue mentioned by a couple others. I just put a sight-light on it, and if I could find the animal in the peep, it'd be toast even in pitch black.
