RE: So can we do this here?
I believe there are a lot of attacks agains Barack because he is a threat to the system as we know it. He is very different from the standard player in Congress. I don't believe a lot of what is posted because research will tell you much is not true. As a lifetime member of the VFW, we have discussed at great length the picture noted above. Poor judgement maybe, but not out of the mainstream today. Just getting people to shut up during the national anthem is a challenge these days. I think Fred Thompson is another who doesn't fit "the mold". Fact is, the choice is going to largely be made for us. We can do our due diligence for the primary, but when it is all said and done, we are going to be left with basically two choices. (Unless you want to vote for a loser. Sad, but true.)
Someone mentioned money for conservation programs, etc. I want a candidate who will NOT give money to conservation program. Let the hunters do that. I also don't want him to waste money in the military. Saw WAY too much of that. Spend the defense money wisely. You will be surprised what you can get for a dollar from a company that doesn't spend millions on lobbyists. I also don't want him to spend money on welfare for people who don't need it, tax breaks for companies with multi-billionaire execs, or a museum to honor the almighty hot dog. With a little judicious penmanship, a good president should be able to whittle the budget down to the point where my taxes will be tolerable. If that trickles to the states, my property taxes would reach a point where I could own enough land to keep me happy hunting for my lifetime. I would have money left to donate to any hunting group I want AND NOT TO LOBBY CONGRESS FOR MORE MONEY! I know a guy who gets social security disability and workers comp disability for a "back injury" and yet he hunts, fishes and rides his ATV almost daily. How many people like that are sucking your tax dollars away? He makes more money than my wife (a bank manager) for hunting all day. Sorry to rant, but anyone who will break away from the "business as usual" mentality is alright in my book. And, for the record, "she" represents EVERYTHING that is "business as usual". |
RE: So can we do this here?
BM, It all started when he decided to stop wearing a flag pin on his lapel.
His response was this. Those pins have become synonymous with politicians since 9-11. Obama says he doesn't like how the pin has come to represent patriotism in America. The senator told TV-9, "I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest, instead I'm going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great. Hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism." If you check into where this info is coming from it is the typical Politics of the Clintons, if you tell half truths and outright lies enough times people will just believe it and not look into the facts behind it. Then you get Folks Like Hannity, Limbaugh spouting stuff and all the sudeen it's a fact. I found plenty of pictures of him saluting the flag. No one has ever been able to come up with a qoute from Obama saying he won't salute the flag |
