Location does mean a lot. However it doesn't mean everything.
Of course not..........but assuming average to above average skills (not chuck adams but not a moron either) the "same" hunter willdown bigger bucks if given the chance to hunt property where they are more numerous. That in a nutshell is the foundation of QDM, AR,and the outfitting business..........same hunter......but bigger deer. One puts the hunter in a different location and the other changes the location around said hunter.

Did you all know that everyone who hunts in Pike Co.Ill, does not kill a P&Y? [:-]
Who's the guy that missed?? ;)

j/k dude

It must have something to do with knowing your quarry and there is the luck factor as well.
No doubt..........and I TOTALLY understand how it would be annoying to hear someone say the only reason you kill what you do is where you get to hunt. The opposite side of that coin is also a little annoying though.........hearing that location doesn't matter and the only reason I don't drop slammers every year is I don't want it bad enough. Not speaking at or about you.........just general tones we both hear from different sides of the fence.

If I were living in the Midwest....and someone said this...I'd be ticked, too.

As far as I know, though......(and I KNOW I haven't)....no one is implying this in this conversation. I've reiterated this over and over.

If you had 100 little to medium size needles in a haystack and only 1large size needle, how many would you find before you found the large 1? I know, I know, "country boy" mentality. The thing is, Atlas is right, but so is GregH. If you had more and bigger deer, you would take more and bigger deer in your area. I have less and smaller deer and I take less and smaller deer. But, if you had several smaller deer and racks in your area and only a couple of bruisers, would you have what it takes to put one on the ground "every" year? It's gonna be a tuff guess on anyones part, because we should never forget, poop happens.[:-]

Greg....You're the one that got pissed. It took me saying it OVER AND OVER AND OVER to spare your fragile ego. I wiish I didn't have to do it, too.

If Greg were to kill 100 inch deer every year that would be because of his area, for him or anyone to kill animals in thetop 5% is what sets a hunter apart in my book
