Hoyt users?
 

How is the 2007 Vectrix and 2008's for that matter?Also, is there a big difference on the Z3& 1/2, Cam and 1/2 Plus and Cam and 1/2? How doesHoyt compare to Bowtech?

I had an '07 Vectrix and just got my '08 Vectrix Plus. The difference in the Vector cam and the Z3 are minimal at best. I noticed VERY little difference, the Z3 is a TAD smoother, but not much....

The smooth boy is the cam and a half and plus....They are very smooth, but not quite as fast.....Not slow either mind you...How does it compare to Bowtech? I've got MINIMAL experience w/ them. I've shot an '06 Allegiance and an '07 Guardian. Those are both very good shooting bows, just not quite as smooth IMO. But, they are a more aggressive cam, so they aren't going to be.

Thanks for the response. I thought I was set on the Guardian (and I still might get) but I started looking into Hoyt.

I have 2 Bowtech dealers closer to me than Hoyt and the closest Hoyt dealer I went to didn't impress me. Since I am getting back into bows after years, I think I might feel more comfortable with Pro Shops closer. Granted Pro Shops can service any bow but they probably would charge more.

As high quality as we're talking about here, you're just not going to be disappointed any road you take. If the dealer is what makes the difference, well, that's just as good a reason as any. Your pro shop is INVALUABLE to you, and you MUST be comfortable w/ whom you're dealing with. If you find a shop you like and trust, well.....that's most of the battle right there. I would by no means suggest to you that you drive farther to get a Hoyt (or bowtech) if it weren't a shop you are comfortable with.

But on the other hand, if that IS the shop you're comfortable with, the extra drive is well worth it.

I've shot andowned both Hoyt and Bowtech's and would have to give the nod to Bowtech. Hoyt's are generally heavier and longer and not as quiet. As far as smooth drawing (except the Guardian) Bowtech's and Diamond's are unmatched. Finally, there is nothing out there with less felt recoil/vibration at the shot than the Guardian.

I am real close to buying a 2007 Guardian and saving $$$. I looked at the specs and it is basically the same as the 2008 but a different standard camo pattern. I just hope it lives up to the hype! ;)

I still would like to get a Hoyt Vectrix or Katera later on as well. I see and hear nothing but good things about them!

....kind of funny that a couple of weeks ago I was set on a Mathews. Who knew.
